The GUARDAMAR project for the production of extra virgin olive oil, was born in December 2013 by the hand of Salvador Poyo Solé and M.Cinta Mèlich Nieto, assuming the management of the family farm located in the municipal district of Cambrils (Baix Camp-Tarragona), registering as an operator registered with the CT / 003608 / P number in the register of operators of the Catalan Council of Ecological Agricultural Production (CCPAE).
For the production of our oil we counted part of our farm mother, “Guardamar”, with the adhesion of four farms more than together form the project, thus adding a total of 2900 olive trees planted and cultivated from the Arbequina variety. These 4 farms are also registered at the CCPAE for organic production.
The extra virgin olive oil GUARDAMAR is 100% of the arbequina variety and is obtained directly from the olives and only by mechanical procedures, its extraction is cold.
This year 2017 we have already obtained the qualification of ecological Agriculture for the first of the “Guardamar” estates, therefore the production of this year of extra virgin olive oil from GUARDAMAR is already ECO. The production of extra virgin olive oil from the rest of the estates of the moment is conventional oil.
